The Wu'ai Street‑South 2nd Ring Road Interchange Project is situated at the junction of Wu'ai Street and South 2nd Ring Road. It starts south of the Hunhe Bridge near New World Convention & Exhibition Center in the south, ends south of the main entrance of Kepu Park on Wu’ai Street in the north, stretches west to Tongda New Village on the 2nd Ring Road and east to Nanta Street on the 2nd Ring Road, covering a land area of about 330,000 m². At the Wu'ai Street‑2nd Ring Road node, a viaduct spans over the 2nd Ring Road. At the north abutment of Hunhe Bridge on Youth Street, a box‑type frame structure goes underneath Youth Street, and a cloverleaf interchange realizes full interchange functions. For the Youth Street‑2nd Ring Road interchange, the existing west‑to‑south right‑turn ramp is adjusted and a new north‑to‑east left‑turn ramp is added to improve interchange performance. Upon completion of the Wu'ai Street‑South 2nd Ring Road Interchange, all signal controls for through traffic on the 2nd Ring Expressway will be eliminated. It will substantially boost the traffic capacity of the 2nd Ring Road and relieve traffic pressure on surrounding roads, intersections and central urban areas.
