North 1st Road Viaduct, Shenyang

Completed in 2020, the North 1st Road Expressway Viaduct totals 3,040 m long. Starting at North Qigong Street in the west, it runs eastward crossing North Weigong Street, Weigong Open Channel, North Jianggong Street, dedicated railway lines, North Baogong Street, North Qixian Street, North Jingxing Street, the under‑construction Metro Line 9 and North Xinghua Street, and lands west of the Guangming Street intersection. Distinctive in engineering features, the viaduct employs three full‑steel structural types: continuous steel plate girders, simply‑supported steel box girders and continuous steel box girders. This makes the North 1st Road Expressway the first urban viaduct adopting an all‑steel structure in Northeast China.
