On September 14, 2026, the closure of the Jingang Connection Section of Bayuquan Port Access Expressway for Liaogang Holdings (Yingkou) Co., Ltd., constructed by Shenyang Zhongda Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully completed. All members of the project team worked in close coordination and efficient collaboration to achieve a breakthrough in the project, laying a solid foundation for subsequent bridge deck paving and auxiliary‑facility construction.
Located in the Bayuquan Port Area of Yingkou Port, this project serves as the sole connecting route linking the Port Access Expressway to the southern port area. The total route length is 1219.628 meters, among which the bridge totals 866.7 meters. Built to urban arterial road standards, it features two‑way four‑lane traffic with a design speed of 60 km/h. The bridge spans the Gangzou No.1 Railway Line, Sanliang No.3 Railway Line and the existing port‑access road. It is characterized by complex intersection angles and stringent safety‑protection requirements for cross‑railway construction. Designed for a 100‑year service life, the bridge superstructure is classified as Safety Class I and situated in a Class‑III corrosive environment, imposing stringent requirements on structural durability, seismic performance and under‑bridge clearance.
The project encountered numerous challenges during implementation. Following expert recommendations in the preliminary phase, the bridge structure was optimized: the steel box girder of Span 8 was converted to a concrete box girder. Meanwhile, construction quantities were verified and budget estimates were optimized. During construction, participating entities tackled risks associated with cross‑line operations and multi‑process overlapping work. They strictly complied with drawing specifications, fulfilled technical requirements for protective guardrails, crack control, seismic resistance and other indicators, and exercised meticulous control over critical procedures including prestressing and concrete casting to safeguard quality and safety. Balancing quality, efficiency and safety, multi‑dimensional coordinated development was achieved to ensure full compliance with applicable standards.
As the final bridge segment was lowered into place, full closure of the main bridge was accomplished, marking a milestone in project construction. Upon completion, the project will open up a fast collection‑and‑distribution corridor for the port, improve cargo transshipment efficiency and boost the development of port‑adjacent industries. Going forward, the project department will seize the construction window, steadily carry out remaining works and make every effort for the early opening‑to‑traffic of the project.
